This

is going on my wall somewhere!

I printed it from Costco yesterday and I have it on my table right now! Just need to figure out where it goes and how to frame it.

here goes...

I started officially as a substitute teacher this week. I had my first day on Tuesday with a 4th grade class. It went OK. I kept telling myself it was fine. But really, I'm not so sure it was fine.
Well, today went MUCH better! I had another group of 4th graders and it was like a whole new experience! I was a little nervous about today, considering my day Tuesday. But it was great! They were awesome and I did fine. I can do this.
I go back to the same class tomorrow, and I am not really too worried about it. I have been at the same school all week, and so I think they are starting to recognize me, and maybe something good will come of this. Let's hope so!

just being.

I love looking at other people's blogs. I LOVE it! I can waste so much time getting inspired. Today, while looking at Ali Edwards blog, I found a new place called Zen Habits. The name didn't grab my attention, but the direct links she had to some articles caught my eye. I do not know how to make a live link, so I can't direct you there from here. But, if you go to www.aliedwards.typepad.com/a/ you should find it. Good ideas there.
Today has been a day of relaxing and catching up after a day out of the house. (the sub job went well).
I feel a bit ridiculous feeling like one day away causes need for me to 'catch up'... but my life is different than it was just a few months ago. It is slower. It is calmer. I don't rush around all day long, every day of the week anymore. I used to do this. I was hectic. I am not hectic anymore. I am hoping to get more hectic soon... but in the mean time I am enjoying this lifestyle. I have time to watch TV (one of my loves). I don't get up as early. I go to bed with my husband early. I blog, I journal, I scrapbook, I clean. I am enjoying it.
And so this is my day today. Just being.
Here I am.

The Front Door

One of my dear friends did this once and I thought it was the cutest thing! I could really understand what it was like for her to go home. Her routines... her front door, everything! So here is my quick attempt to copy Danielle. Enjoy! (and please excuse the ugly carpet, the dog toys on the floor, and my husbands boots in the dining room).

Welcome.

I love fall. I don't think I started admitting this until late high school, and even then I didn't admit it to others. But I am out of the bag... I love fall!
Fall officially begins this Sunday, but it has been creeping in like a new love for a few weeks now. It is almost as if you can smell fall just around the corner. When I walk outside I know it's autumn.
Leaves are changing, and they are falling on the breeze like a sleepy toddler.
Orange, red, purple, brown, burgundy are a natural color in the environment now.
The big rodeos are coming to an end, circuit finals are now in the thoughts of 'non cowboys' and cowboys alike.
Halloween costumes fill the store isles where once stood bbq's and sun umbrellas.
And, of course, football season is here. I'm not a huge fan of the sport myself, but even I am looking forward to watching a game or two, dressing up in our team colors and hosting the last of the outdoor bbq's. I think I might even try my hand at hosting a civil war party. (Should be interesting).
So as a big time summer fan, I bid farewell and open my heart and my windows to the newest love of my days.... autumn.
Welcome.
