my new do took almost three hours, but I think I really like it! =) Love Annie and what she can do. Pardon my yucky pictures... I had Brandon helping me, and we were taking them in the bathroom because of the light. haha

Today is the day.
Today is the day I will drive up to Portland.
Today is the day I will see my friend Annie.
Today is the day I will show her my silly clippings of hair styles.
Today is the day that I will (probably) get my hair chopped off.
Today is the day that I will drive back down to Eugene with a new look.
Today is the day that I will either love it, or hate it.
Tomorrow is the day that I will learn if I can take care of it. =)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ok, so my favorite holiday has officially came and gone already! =) Don't worry, we did some serious celebrating this past weekend. Brandon and I left Eugene Friday at around 4 stopping only for a quadruple shot of espresso and to pick up our friend Kelly in Wilsonville. We arrived in Heppner at around 9pm. We went directly up to the high school to watch the 'Smoker' event. It ended up actually being fun... who would have thought I would want to watch boys beat up each other? it was a bit weird, but fun to see everyone that was there. We then went up to Brandon's parents' house. It had snowed and so it was interesting getting up to the house. Saturday morning we got up and then headed into town with a camper on the back of the pickup. After a day of listening to Irish music, watching the parade, and visiting we went out with some friends.
Anyways, it was lots of fun and I'm glad we were able to get out there to celebrate and that Kelly was able to go with us!

So... Happy St. Patrick's Day and let the count down till next year begin!

Let's just lay low today *note* this is the post i tried to post last weekend!

that is what we said when we woke up Saturday morning. And we did, for about 2 hours. We just laid in bed visiting and calling friends and family. It was great. Then I got anxious. Anxious to use my day off wisely. Anxious to do something.

So Brandon got up and fixed us a great breakfast. Then he said... "Hey babe, want to rip up the carpet?" I'm pretty sure he was half joking, but to his surprise I said "Sure"!

So at about 10:15 yesterday morning we started ripping up the dining room carpet. While Brandon was finishing cooking breakfast I was moving furniture and taking all the little things down off the furniture. (picture frames, vases, etc.) And by 12:30 we pretty much had the dining room done. We took a quick lunch break and then started in on the hallway. The hallway was much easier. The carpet pad hadn't stuck to the floor as bad as it had in the dining and living rooms. However, there were lots (and I mean LOTS) of staples to be pulled. And this was about the time I started feeling a pain in my lower back from being bent down all morning pulling out said staples. We got it all done. Carpet out. Carpet pad out. Old carpet pad pieces vacuumed up in shop vac. Tack strips up, nails vacuumed. Wood into garbage bag. Staples out, and vacuumed in sop vac. Once over with the dyson just to be sure we had all the dust up. Once over with the mop because it had been 50 years or so. And my back was killing me! I'm too young for this!!!

then, we decided now was as good as time as any to finally put the china into the 'china cabinet' and out of the boxes. Our 'china cabinet' is an old entertainment center. Yeah, a little weird... but it's all we can afford right now! haha I am dreaming of a new one, but I think it will be a little while. So in the mean time Brandon did a great job of using what we do have. Then it just took some time putting it all back away, and by 10:30 last night we were finally ready for sleep.

we have been waiting your arrival. It is so nice that you brought some sunshine with you to share with all of us. We hope you have a nice stay, and that you can shine some of your light on our plants and flowers. While you are here, do you think you could give us some of your rain so that our grass will grow green all year?
Since you are our guest for the next 31 days, could you also give sunshine to the state on the weekend before St. Patrick's Day? Lots of visitors will be here celebrating and we would like to be outside in your warmth.
We hope you enjoy your stay and come back again next year. We also look forward to the freshness you bring into our world. It allows us to open our windows and let your fresh breeze flow in, and we are inspired to plant flowers and clean our homes.
